December it’s not all about us.

For many as we approach Christmas it brings many memories both happy and sad. In our family it is difficult not to think back on those we have lost this year and previous years and through my work I walk that path again and again, week after week with relatives as they lose their loved ones. Marie Curie have a new advertisement campaign emphasising the need to talk about our wishes with those with whom it counts and will make a difference. I was fortunate to be able to talk openly with my father from his diagnosis of cancer to the many miraculous years he received and in his last weeks so he knew what to expect day by day. I know it makes a difference to how you grieve and how your loved one feels as they leave this earth. That is why I promote Marie Curie’s message. Marie Curie talk about

If you check out their site on the link above why don’t you consider making a donation to support the charity as the need is ongoing and there are never enough nurses to meet the demand. As well as Marie Curie being a recipient in lieu of presents this year I have chosen to support research for Motor neurone disease. The second member of my family is living with this horrendous disease and so much research is needed. The debilitating impact on the body impacts the whole family but especially the immediate carers. MND or American link ALS.
